Important Changes On Sponsor Licence Priority Service From 21 June 2023

According to Pre-license priority services guidance, from 21st June 2023, the Pre-Licence Priority Service will be requested differently.

Email requests are no longer acceptable, organisations must submit requests through the sponsor licence account only.

Organisations are able to request the priority service at the same time when paying the sponsor licence application fee, subject to the eligibility criteria.

What is the Sponsor Licence Priority service?

Normally, the Sponsor Licence application takes 8-10 weeks to get a decision from the Home Office. The Home Office offers the Pre-license Priority Service which allows organisations to get a faster decision by paying an additional fee when they submit their online applications.

How long does the Sponsor Licence Priority service take?

The Priority Service ensures your application will be considered within 10 working days. However, it does not guarantee your application will be approved. Without a Priority Service, the application normally takes 8-10 weeks.

How much does it cost to apply for a Sponsor Licence Priority service?

It cost £500 extra for a pre-licence priority service apart from the online Sponsor licence application fee. The online Sponsor Licence application fee cost £536 for a small company and £1,476 for a medium or large company.

Eligibility of Sponsor Licence Priority service

To be eligible for a priority service for Sponsor Licence Application, you must

  • ◉ have applied for a sponsor licence in an eligible route and completed the online application form.
  • ◉ have paid the application fee
  • ◉ have submitted the supporting documents

Organisations applying for a sponsor licence under the below routes are not eligible for a priority service.

  • ◉ GBM UK Expansion Worker
  • ◉ GBM Service Supplier
  • ◉ GBM Secondment Worker
  • ◉ Scale-up Worker
  • ◉ Government Authorised Exchange
  • ◉ International Agreement
  • ◉ Seasonal Worker

How many priority slots are available for the pre-licence?

There’re only 30 slots available for the priority service every day, it is allocated on a first come first serve basis. Requests can only be made between 9:00am and 23:59pm Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

How to request a priority service?

Under the new priority service guidelines, you can request priority service when you make sponsor licence application while paying the application fee, there’s an option to pay the priority service fee at the same time, subject to the eligibility criteria.

You can also request priority service after you have already submitted a sponsor licence application, you will need to log into your application account with your user ID and password.
