Md Luftur Rahman (FCILEx) is a prominent lawyer, businessman and community activist widely known in the diaspora Bangladeshi community in the UK.
He was called to the bar as a barrister at the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in 2000. Later, he started legal practice with a firm of solicitors in East London in 2002. He eventually established own legal practice with two other practitioners and achieved tremendous success. Their firm Universal Legal Centre was recognised with the best representative award from the Home Office for Sector Based Scheme (SBS) project introduced in 2003.
Due to his enthusiasm, passion and sincerity, Lutfur obtained name and fame among the community, particularly among Bangladeshi immigrants. He has been supported in this journey by his wife Barrister Nahid Sultana Parvin who was also called to the bar in 2000.
Mr. Rahman, a qualified Chartered Legal Executive Lawyer and Commissioner for Oaths, has been pursuing his legal practice in immigration, civil, family, housing and commercial disputes. He developed his expertise in immigration application, appeal and judicial review matters.
He remained in East London and practices from Saint Martin Solicitors where he leads the immigration team. Saint Martin Solicitors is a solicitors’ firm authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), which among other areas, also specialises in Immigration law, in-country and entry clearance appeals, settlement/ILR application, leave to remain application, deportation, and bail, business visa, asylum, and Judicial Reviews.
Mr. Rahman is also the Managing Director of Skilledworkerroute.co.uk and the CEO at Workpermitcloud.co.uk. Skilled Worker Route is a job portal to bridge the gaps between qualified employer with sponsorship licence (who wishes to hire migrant employee) and global level professionals (who wishes to pursue career with a new employer). Workpermitcloud.co.uk is a virtual HR management software for those who would like to apply for license to recruit skilled workers from abroad.
As a distinguished lawyer and successful entrepreneur Mr. Rahman spends most of his working hours in researching legal updates, changes in immigration rules and procedures, legal precedents and finding solutions and remedies for his clients.
He regularly attends live television programmes and provides with necessary advice and comments on immigration related matters. He is a regular guest on NTV’s live show “Work Permit” telecasted on Sky 757.
