Immigration updates: No cap of 20 hours additional work for Health and Care worker visa
The Home Office announced a change to supplementary work rules for sponsored workers in the UK on a Health and Care Visa.
Taking additional Worker under a Health and Care Worker Visa
If you’re under a Health and Care worker visa, you can take on additional work, you can work more than the current 20 hours per week without having to notify the Home Office.
However, any supplementary hours worked beyond the 20 hours must be in an eligible Health and Care Visa role or in other shortage occupations.
When do you need to update your visa
If your additional job is more than 20hrs and it is not in the Health and Care Visa role and shortage occupations, then you’ll need to update your visa, you’ll need to get a new certificate of sponsorship from your second employer.
This 20hrs exemption is only in place for six months, from 27 August 2023, you’ll only be able to do up to 20 hours of additional paid work.
